Names for the Grand Parents
It's fun thinking about a little one and playing with them, etc. But when I think about what he will call me I'm drawing a blank. I don't feel I'm a Granny or Grammy. Nana is taken by my Mom and although I love Goldie Hawn's GLAMma, that's not me either. So Rachel and I have been tossing possibilities around. She hit on a solution I love: Jo.
Of course there's a story behind it. When the kids were little and they went to their Dad to ask for something, if he needed my input he always told them,"We have to ask Jo". Who's Jo? "Jo Momma!!" Easy, short, sweet and meaningful. And it comes with a good story. So I'll be the Baby's Jo, as in "Jo Gram ma."
Gram Pa is still working on his name! Maybe we'll let the Baby figure one out!

Things to Come
He's on the way. Our beautiful daughter, Rachel and her productive husband, Mike are in the "family way" and will soon make us proud, first time grandparents. Frank and I are so excited and can't wait for the next great adventure. He's a HE and is expected to make his grand entrance in November. I say later and am hoping for the 22nd. They were married on 2/22/06 and had their wedding celebration on 4/22/06 so 11/22/07 would be an easy date to remember. But I know he'll choose the best date and we'll be happy whenever!
So far all goes well. We're planning a shower in October and they are attending classes to prepare. And of course the father to be is busy building a fabulous nursery. I wonder what their spoiled cat, Dewey will do?
We'll use this blog for bragging and keeping everyone posted. For now, welcome to Nancy's Baby Grand.
